VILLAGE CRACKS

As we walked under the scotching ⛅ sun, Laura couldn’t stop picking out different leaves, talking of their medicinal value, some dangerous, some food for snakes, others best hide outs for chameleon and so on and so on.
Couldn’t quite understand how she knew all that, I mean at her age? Okay, another surprise for this village queens. They tell you something and you left pondering about it for a decade until you sit down with your granny to decipher it😂😂😂.
We came through a bushy path, down into the middle of the village and further down to a huge stream that took me by surprise.
It’s so big😓😓😓😟 I thought. Almost looks like the Nile, well in such a village okay….
My thoughts were interrupted by her strong grip ushering me to a bank of the river.
Grass was actually to the level of my knees and this wasn’t going well with me. What if snakes🐍🐍🐍🐍 we’re crawling here? Ooh God,the chameleon🐸🐸🐸or those disgusting fluffy Caterpillars….
I couldn’t help but jump up with freight at the thought of having any of those disgusting creatures crawling up my feet.
Yet all this time, she was standing there looking at me cracking with Laughter.
What’s funny? I asked
You are such a weirdo. She said.
What did I do now?
Yesterday, you were running away from a dark that wasn’t even chasing after you. Today you are here jumping as if you just stepped on a cobra
Cobra🐉🐉🐉🐉🐉🐉🐉!!!!!
I jumped with fear holding onto her like she was some kind of a goddess for protection against this imaginary cobra of hers.
Laura was now laughing to tears. Does she really know just how much I hate being laughed at?
Yes yes yesterday I was running away from this furious looking duck. But it was coming towards me! How would I have known it was going for granny’s grains and not me?
Thank God she didn’t see me run away from her father’s goat in the morning.I mean how do people survive here with all this weird animals?
They poo everywhere, and granny has to be walking around with a yard boom and a shovel to be cleaning up.Gosh, the stench that come from the poo…only those familiar with it can tale better.

Hey,don’t worry too much it’s safe over here. And so peaceful.
I calmed a little bit at her assurance though I knew I really didn’t believe that.
Laura slowly took off her black pretty 👗 dress, pushed aside her flip flops and dived into the dirty water with so much fun.
How could she do that? Okay back in the city we are used to nice and pretty swimming costumes into a pool and not swimming like this with absolutely no clothes on, in broad daylight like this…
Lyndah come on, join me!
Came her voice. What is she thinking? That I will just take of my clothes and jump in that dangerous dirty looking water?
Hell no!
Hey,try it, it’s nice trust me. Calms the nerves. The water is so cool!!
No doubt she was having fun. I’m not sure about joining though.
What if our clothes are taken by a hunter or a herds boy and we are forced to walk home naked?
Or what if an anaconda suddenly appears in the river and…oh no, what if a horror creature appears???
I was so panic stricken and the only thing I wanted to do is go home and forget all about the mysteries of this village. I certainly wasn’t enjoying anymore.
Ooopss!!!!! I quickly jumped in the water with my clothes on screaming and headed for Laura. Something had just tapped my shoulder from the back and my adrenaline was so high, my heart palpitating and the throbs could be heard really loudly. I was weak, and scared to death.
